City Taxi and Limousine Commission

<P>Businesses interested in providing for-hire, pre-arranged contract transportation services are required to have a Black Car Base License to operate. The Base license is required for a business to provide dispatched, for-hire transportation in the City of New York.</P>

In order to provide for hire vehicle service in New York City, a base must be licensed by TLC. All vehicles and drivers affiliated with the base must have the appropriate for-hire driver and vehicle licenses issued by TLC.
