Concept Proposal Tech Document is an open-ended proposal for new technology or idea(s) that are not specifically covered by the fire code.
The proposal will be viewed and critiqued by Technology Management. Technology Management will provide comments on the proposal from a fire safety perspective. The Concept Proposal process allows applicants to understand FDNY protocols, codes, and regulations. The Concept Proposal process also informs applicants of the likelihood of obtaining approval prior to filing an application.
Note:
- Filing a Concept Proposal Tech Document does not authorize the applicant to install or use the proposed design.
- A TM-1 application must be filed on FDNY Business to obtain approval.
- Highly abstract proposals may be automatically rejected and will not receive any detailed comments.
