In New York State, diagnostic and treatment centers (clinics) need a certificate from the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).
These clinics provide a range of primary health care services. They can be part-time or full-time and may be associated with a hospital.
To be certified, clinics need a Certificate of Need, proving:
- Their service meets a public need.
- Qualified people run their service.
- Their service is financially stable.
