Vehicle License Requirements Checklist

List of Permit Fees.

• New Application Fee: Five Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($550) for a two (2) year license. If you are using a money order to pay it must be made payable to: NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission
• Inspection Fee: Seventy-Five ($75) required if vehicle has 500 miles or more recorded on the odometer. New applicants must pay this inspection fee together with their completed application fee of $550.
• All licenses are non-transferable and all fees are non-refundable.

License renewal payments can be made online via the LARS (License Applications, Renewals and Summonses) System.

All other license types issued by the Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) require other individual operating licenses. For additional information about TLC licensing and requirements, visit www.nyc.gov/tlc, NYC Business, or visit one of the TLC Licensing Centers in person.

Fees must be submitted along with the application form. All fees are non-refundable.

The license application, required documents, and fees must be filed in person at a TLC Licensing center from Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm.
