The "Made in NY" Marketing Credit program helps film and TV shows get free co-branded ads in New York City, the U.S.'s top media market. To qualify, at least 75 percent of your film or TV show must be made in New York City.
You must do 75 percent of your film or TV show production in New York City. This includes all film production credit recipients.
- Contact the Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting (OFTB): Use the contact information on the About page to start the application process.
- Prove NYC production: Demonstrate that 75 percent of the project was shot in NYC.
- Submit production budget: Once OFTB approves the production criteria, submit a below-the-line NYC production budget. This includes all production jobs other than directors, producers, actors and Writers. OFTB will use this to decide the marketing credit value.
- Create co-branded campaign: After the value is calculated, OFTB and the studio/network will create a co-branded campaign for the final TV or film project.
- Provide a "cultural credit": Donate 0.1 percent of the below-the-line budget to an NYC cultural institution. OFTB will provide a list of cultural institutions around the City as identified by the Department of Cultural Affairs.
