To work as a massage therapist, masseur or masseuse in New York State, you need a Massage Therapy License. The New York State Education Department (NYSED) gives this license.

You must complete courses in massage therapy to apply for the license.

You need a license to use the titles "massage therapist," "masseur" or "masseuse" in New York State. If you have a license from another state, you can apply to have it accepted in New York.
