Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) help care for patients. They work under a Registered Nurse or a doctor. To be an LPN in New York State, you need a license. The New York State Education Department (NYSED) gives this license.

To get the license, you must finish school and pass an exam.

If you have not taken the test yet, you can get a limited permit. This permit lets you work under a Licensed Practical Nurse.
