Paratransit Car Driver License
You need a Paratransit Driver's License to drive a Paratransit car. These cars help people in wheelchairs get around New York City.
Make sure you meet all the requirements and have the correct documents.
- Age requirement: You must be at least 19 years old.
- Social Security Card: You need a valid and original Social Security Card.
- Driver's License: You need an original and valid Class A, B, C or E Driver's License from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania or Connecticut. The license must have your current photo.
- Proof of address: If your DMV license has a different address than the one on your application, bring proof of address (like a current utility bill) with your name on it.
- Commercial Driver License Status: You must have an Active 19-A Commercial Driver License Status (Class A, B or C). Check the New York State DMV website for more details.
- Physical Condition Examination: You need to submit an Examination to Determine Physical Condition of a Driver with a doctor's stamp. The form cannot be older than one year from the date you apply. Visit the New York State DMV website for more information.
- DMV Points: You cannot have more than seven DMV points within an 18-month period from the date you apply. Check the DMV, NYC Parking Violations Bureau (PVB) or NYC TLC Points Obligations for more details.
- Child Support Enforcement Form: You must submit a completed and notarized NYC Office of Child Support Enforcement Form.
- Outstanding judgments: You cannot have any outstanding judgments (like unpaid tickets) with the DMV, NYC Traffic Parking Violations Bureau or the Taxi & Limousine Commission. If you have any, your application will not be processed. Contact these agencies directly to check for outstanding judgments. Permit fees
- Yellow Taxicab Driver License Application: $120 for two years.
- Fingerprinting fee: $75

Submit documents: Submit all required documents listed above with a completed application form. You can submit applications at the Long Island City or Staten Island License Facilities.
