Small Business Administration
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) provides 7(a) loans for small businesses through commercial lenders.
Commercial lenders make loans of up to $2 million dollars. SBA guarantees up to $1.5 million dollars of any loan. The loans are for starting new businesses, mergers, or expanding existing businesses. There are multiple specialized loans available for certain businesses.
