Wholesale Business Registration

You need a Wholesale Business Registration to sell in a New York City public wholesale market. This is for businesses that sell food or related agricultural/horticultural products at wholesale prices. These products are for other businesses to resell. The registration lasts for three years.

• Notarized Certifications:

  • On behalf of the business.
  • From each principal.

• Business Certificates:

  • Sole proprietors: A certified copy of the Certificate of Doing Business from the County Clerk.
  • Partnerships: A copy of the partnership agreement and Certificate of Partnership from the County Clerk.
  • Corporations: A copy of the Certificate of Incorporation from the Secretary of State.

• Purchase and Sale Agreements:

  • Include these if you bought, sold, or lost routes or customers.

• Forfeiture, receivership or independent monitoring documents:

  • Include liens or bankruptcy papers.

• Tax proceeding documents:

  • Include any contested tax papers.

• Principal Information Form:

  • For each principal.

• Permit fees:

  • Wholesale Business Registration Application fee: $4,000

• Applying for a Business Integrity Commission Wholesale Business Registration does not cover other rules from City, State or federal agencies.

1. Complete the application for Wholesale Business Registration.
2. Submit the original and one copy of the application and all required documents to the License Unit at the Business Integrity Commission in person or by mail.
3. After review and acceptance, the application will remain pending until completion of a background check.
4. You will get a mail notification when approved.
