Bond Readiness Program and Bonding Services

Compete for Larger City Construction Projects

The NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) offers Bond Readiness, a 12-session, intensive program for NYC-certified minority and women-owned business enterprises (M/WBEs) and small construction firms to receive education, training, and one-on-one financial management guidance to help obtain surety bonds and increase surety bond capacity for New York City construction projects.

SBS also offers free bonding services designed to help construction and trade firms:

  • Organize bookkeeping and accounting through QuickBooks™ clinics
  • Receive information relevant to the construction industry and bonding through webinars
  • Complete bond applications through one-on-one bonding technical assistance sessions

*All bonding services are currently being offered virtually.

Program Eligibility

This program may be right for you, if:

  • You own an NYC-certified M/WBE, or are in the process of certifying an NYC-based business
  • You have operated for at least two years
  • You have at least $150,000 in most recent annual gross revenues

Thank you for your interest in the Bond Readiness Program.  We are now accepting applications for the 2024-25 cohort that will begin October 15, 2024.
