If you want to sell beer in a grocery store in New York State, you need the Grocery Store Beer License. The New York State Liquor Authority (SLA) gives out this license.
Requirements:
- Food and drugs together must be more than 50 percent of your inventory.
- Alcoholic drinks cannot be more than a 25 percent of your inventory.
- Beer must have less than 6 percent alcohol.
- Candy, carbonated beverages and snacks do not count in the inventory.
