If you run a large food or beverage establishment, you need to use Form 8027. This form reports payroll and tips to the IRS. It covers money from food or drink sales and tips that workers report.
Workers who get $20 or more in tips each month must tell their employer about all of their tips.
If you own a large food or beverage establishment, you must file Form 8027. If you own more than one establishment, you need to file a Form 8027 for each one.
An establishment is considered large if:
- Food or drinks are served to be eaten there.
- Tipping is common.
- More than 10 workers work a total of 80 hours in a day.
