Residential Facility for Victims of Domestic Violence, Operating Certificate

Facilities that operate residential programs for victims of domestic violence need this certificate. This certificate is given by New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS).

Under state law, domestic violence includes physical, emotional, and/or financial abuse. Romantic and parent-child relationships are included. Protection for victims, including facilities, are governed by OCFS.

Programs include shelters, safe home networks, and sponsoring agencies.
