Businesses that manufacture and sell alcoholic beverages must register their brand labels in New York State. Registration is with the State Liquor Authority (SLA).



The rule makes sure that the SLA can check that all beverages are safe for public consumption and meet labeling requirements. To register, businesses must label all liquor, beer, wine products, and wine with less than 7% alcohol. Businesses cannot put deceptive health or benefit claims on the label.

Businesses must register and pay a fee for each brand.

Registration is needed after any brand change.
