Businesses that export or import goods can get help from the state and federal government.
Global NY - Empire State Development
Empire State Development helps businesses through their Global NY program. They offer money for:
- Exporting goods
- Marketing goods abroad
- Business visits and trade missions
They also help with:
- Marketing goods for export
- Working with sales agents and distributors
Available Programs
- Export Marketing Assistance Service: Helps businesses find export opportunities and agents abroad.
- Global NY State Trade Expansion Program: Gives grants and loans for businesses to find trade opportunities or market products for export.
- Global NY Grant Fund Program: Offers grants for businesses starting to export or expanding exports. Nonprofits that help with export or trade education can also get grants. Grants are up to $25,000 for businesses and $50,000 for nonprofits.

Export.gov helps businesses with export and import procedures. The International Trade Administration also helps.
Businesses can contact the International Trade Administration directly. They can visit their Export Assistance Center in New York City. Export.gov has similar information online.
