State and Federal incentives are available for businesses that export or import goods.

Global NY - Empire State Development

Empire State Development provides assistance through their Global NY program. Grant money is available for exporting goods, marketing goods abroad, going on business visits and trade missions, and more. The program also provides assistance in marketing goods for export abroad, and working with sales agents and distributors.

The following programs are available:
  • The Export Marketing Assistance Service helps businesses identify export opportunities and agents abroad.
  • The Global NY State Trade Expansion Program provides grants and loans for businesses to seek trade opportunities or market products for export abroad.
  • The Global NY Grant Fund Program provides grants for businesses starting to export or expanding exports, and for non-profits providing export help or trade education. Grants are up to $25,000 for businesses and $50,000 for non-profits.

Export.gov/International Trade Administration

Export.gov helps businesses with export and import procedures. The International Trade Administration also provides help.

Businesses can contact the International Trade Administration directly for help. They are encouraged to visit their Export Assistance Center in New York City. Export.gov provides similar information online.
