The Green Roof Property Tax Abatement gives a one-year tax break. This is for building a green roof on homes and businesses in New York City. This program helps the City's long-term sustainability plan, PlaNYC.

A green roof has plants and soil. These roofs help manage storm water. They also insulate buildings. They make cities cooler. The NYC Green Roof Property Tax Abatement Program is renewed and active.

You can find application information in the Program Guide. An NYS registered architect or licensed engineer must submit the application. They do this through eFiling at www.nyc.gov/dobefiling.
