The Commercial New Construction Program (CNCP) helps businesses incorporate energy efficiency measures into substantially renovated and new buildings. The CNCP offers technical support to building design teams and financial incentives to building owners.
Technical Assistance is available to help evaluate energy-efficiency measures, limit energy usage and peak demand electric loads, and provide guidance to design teams on incorporating new and emerging energy-efficient technologies into buildings. Funding is available to offset the additional costs associated with the purchase and installation of approved equipment.
The following two types of building projects are eligible for incentives under the program:
- New Construction Project: a new building, or space within a new building, for which a licensed professional architect or engineer has prepared and certified building plans;
- Substantial Renovation Project: one of the following types of projects where a licensed professional architect or engineer has prepared and certified building plans for: a change of use and reconstruction of an existing building or space within; construction work of a nature requiring that the building or space within be out of service for at least 30 consecutive days; or reconstruction of a vacant structure or space within a building.
Funding for this program is from the New York State Clean Energy Fund.
