Paratransit Vehicle License
To drive a Paratransit vehicle in New York City, you need a Paratransit Vehicle License. This license is for vehicles that help people in wheelchairs get around. The Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) gives out these licenses.
Make sure you have all the required documents and fees ready.

Insurance Certificate: You need a current for-hire Insurance Certificate (FH-1). It must be in your name. Get it from your insurance company.

Vehicle documents: Submit one of these:
- DMV registration
- Certificate of Title
- Bill of Sale
- Leasing Agreement
Note: If your vehicle is licensed out of state, you must show DMV registration with seating capacity.

Photo ID: You need a government-issued photo ID. A state-issued driver's license is best.

Social Security Card: You need a valid and original Social Security Card.

Vehicle inspection: You need a New York State Department of Transportation Inspection form (MC300). It must show your vehicle has been inspected. Include the front and back pages. If the inspection report shows problems, include the problem report. The inspection report is good for one year. To arrange an inspection, contact your nearest DOT regional office. Proof of business status: Show proof of your business status:
- Corporation: Certificate of Incorporation and a filing receipt
- Partnership: Partnership Certificate
- Sole Proprietor: Business Certificate
To get these documents, contact the New York State Division of Corporations.

IRS documents: You need an IRS-issued CP-575 Notice or a 145-C letter. You also need Social Security cards and a government-issued photo ID for each elected officer. For more information, visit the local IRS office.

Fees: Submit fees with your application. All fees are non-refundable.

Submission: Submit your application, required documents and fees in person at a TLC Licensing Center. They are open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Application fee: The New Vehicle Application fee is $550.
