Resuscitation Equipment for Restaurants

In accordance with Local Law 12, taverns and restaurants that sell food for on-premises consumption must have resuscitation equipment.
Required Equipment
- One adult exhaled resuscitation mask
- One pediatric exhaled resuscitation mask
- Two pairs of latex gloves
The masks must be certified for use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. You can buy them at most surgical supply stores.
Signage
You must put up signs to tell customers about the resuscitation equipment. The sign must show:
- Where to find the equipment
- Where to learn CPR
You can put this information on a sign or on the menu. The owner or staff are not obligated to use the equipment or give medical help.
