All Principals and Assistant Principals who lead fire drills in NYC K-12 schools require a Certificate of Fitness for Fire and Emergency Drill Conductor for NYC K-12 Schools (D-10).
The main purpose of a fire drill is to allow students, teachers and other staff to practice emergency evacuation procedures. The Fire and Emergency Drill Conductor must make sure that fire drills are conducted in a safe and orderly manner.
This Certificate of Fitness is valid only at a specific location and for the specific person to whom it is issued.
