Food Protection Course for Mobile Food Vendors.
This course trains individuals in food protection practices to ensure the safety of the food served from New York City's mobile food carts and trucks. You must apply for a mobile food license, which costs $50, and register for the course, which costs $53, together. Read more about a Mobile Food Vendor License below in Additional Details.
Registration for this course must be done in person at the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) Licensing Center.
This class is offered in English and Bangla.
Frequency and Duration: This is an eight-hour course conducted over two days, four hours each day. Two English classes are head most weeks, one on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and another on Thursdays and Fridays. The schedule for the Bangla class varies.
When you complete this class and pass the final exam, you will receive your mobile food vendor license in the mail about a week later. If you fail the final exam, you must register and pay for the course again. There is no limit to the number of times you can take the course and final exam.
Before you can register for this class and apply for a mobile food vending license, you must obtain your New York State Certificate of Authority to Collect Sales Tax. The address on the Certificate must match that of the applicant for which an application is being submitted.
Please note, when you register for this course, you must also apply for a Mobile Food Vendor license. Please complete the license application and note the additional fee that will be required.
